About 12 months before your wedding is about normal but this can vary if you are planning to lose or gain lots of weight. Ideally we would like you to buy your dress when you are within 2 stone (max) of your goal weight. If the dress is a little tight we can talk about options to create more room in the dress, likewise we can take the dress in by around 2 dress sizes if we need to. Please factor this in when you are planning out when to start looking. However if your weight is fairly static and you like to be organised then 18 months before your wedding would be fine too.

I could write a long list of dos and don’ts but the main thing to remember for your appointment is to be comfortable and relaxed. Nude underwear and a strapless bra is useful but not essential. The most important tip is to wear minimum make-up and please refrain from wearing fake tan or heavy perfume so we can keep the lovely dresses in tip-top condition.

In my honest opinion, too many people in the bridal party causes too many opinions and you might end up unable to make a decision, or even worse, making the wrong decision. I would recommend no more than four people at the very most. We find that one or two guests works best. We have ZOOM facilities in the shop so you can involve extra friends and family to join in your appointment from the comfort of their own homes. ** ** Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are limiting guests to a maximum of 2 People. Unfortunately, children are not allowed until restrictions are lifted.

We really want you to cherish and enjoy every minute of your appointment, without rushing or pressure to make a decision so you will have 1 and a half hours to try on as many dresses as you would like. By this time you will be ready to have a coffee/lunch at a local café or even a glass of something sparkling to celebrate your purchase at a local hostiliery!

Our Pure Bridal Range by Romantica has a lead time of 12 weeks from the point of order. There is a fast track option (8 weeks) if you are on a tight timescale but there is a fee for this option. For those of you that are on an even shorter timescale, you may prefer to purchase one of our designer label ex-sample dresses off-the-peg (OTP). OTP dresses can be purchased and taken away the same day.

Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer or card payment. Unfortunately, we do not offer payment plans. However, when purchasing a ‘new-to-order’ dress from our Pure Bridal by Romantica range, you will be required to pay 50% at the point of order and the remaining 50% balance just before the dress arrives in store (12 weeks later).
